ENGAGEMENTS & LOVE STORIES

Engagement Photography

Time together before the wedding — photographed with the same balance of observation and direction.

Useful before the wedding, meaningful after it.

An engagement or love-story session creates relaxed time to make photographs together before the wedding and to get comfortable with how the photography feels.

ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS

Plan around connection, useful light, and a place that feels natural.

An engagement session does not need a long list of poses or locations. A setting with room to walk, talk, and change pace usually gives the photographs more variety than rushing between landmarks. In Minneapolis and across Minnesota, season and sunset time shape the plan: summer evenings stay bright much longer, while winter calls for an earlier start and a simple indoor alternative when weather changes.

What the session feels like.

Direction is clear when it helps with light, composition, or where to begin. After that, movement and conversation do most of the work. The aim is to make intentional portraits without asking you to perform for the camera. The session is also a useful way to learn how little guidance you need before the wedding day, so portrait time can feel familiar and efficient later.

Choose clothing you can move in, bring one practical backup for the weather, and think about a place that already means something to you. The photographs should reflect your connection more than a location checklist.
